This is my third cruise on Norwegian Epic, and I finally got a chance to try East Caribbean itinerary.
Usually the day of departure is hectic. However my morning began with additional unpredicted stress: my debit card was frozen by bank. Obviously someone got hands on my card number and tried to charge my bank account. So suddenly I was without a card and any cash in Miami, going to the cruise. Bank told me to use checks, “just cash it in any bank” – customer support guy said. Easy to say – try to cash a check from North East bank on Saturday afternoon. After an hour I was getting desperate: my cruise departure was getting closer and closer yet I still needed to return a rental car and get back to the port. Thankfully, the guy at rental agreed to give me the ride and I got on the ship just in a time! I was literally the last one to check in! Luckily, I was allowed to get on the ship without debit or credit card and without any cash. It was good my gratuity was prepaid! Intuition, I believe!
Anyway, I am back to Epic just at time for the Sail Away party! It is my third time on Epic cruise, yet the excitement isn’t gone a bit! I wish though it would be better weather: at least some sun would be great! Instead it was cold and very windy!
The people as always were in hurry to have fun outside: most got a specialty Sail Away drink, some got on the pool deck to do dancing with the entertainment team. Every jacuzzi was occupied by folks, obviously determined to
At 5.30 The Living Room meeting with solo travelers went very well. This week’s hostess sweet Natalie told guests about the Studio program, it’s benefits and possibilities.
My evening dinner with friends was very enjoyable even though we couldn’t get Manhattan as planned. Instead I saw a new side of Taste room, the left corner side that looks so cosy, like some artsy tavern. The dinner included salmon mousse with pita, garden salad and butter shrimp scampi for appetizers and snapper with salsa and sweet potato. And for dessert I had a tiramisu and raspberry sherbet.
I missed Pub crawl again and maybe for the best since the people participated in that activity were seen really drunk around the ship. I do would still love to try it once.
Entertainment began at 9 pm for me with Howl at the Moon. I anticipated to see new players yet I miss last group. The Headliners were full and the people were ready to participate in pianist’s music and jokes. I was really surprised and amazed by the piano players that were onboard that week. Their singing was so great, and the friendly “duel” created truly amazing effect.
Stopping at Fat cats and listening to Slam Allen’s band was fantastic as well. I missed that powerful creative energy!!! And truly enjoyed the people who came to see the show.
